The Centre, Bury St Edmonds

The Centre aims to create a sustainable, welcoming and inclusive community centre, open every day, and to develop new activities and services to improve the health and well-being of local people. It will provide and imrove a community resource and encourage recreation, achievement and community partnership and involvement, aimed at the community in general and disadvantaged groups in particular. A Grade 2 listed Victorian former school building will be conserved and developed to provide a more flexible layout, additional meeting/office space, central kitchen, community cafe and extensive energy conservation measures aimed at halving heat loss from the building.
