The Collinsend Common Orchard Restoration Project

To restore to good condition, approximately 2.7Ha of traditional orchard, by careful pruning of the existing trees, the grafting of cuttings from the existing trees, the planting of new orchard trees, fencing to enable appropriate conservation grazing, the planting of new, native hedges and grazing the grass sward.

Deliver activities that help to stop the net loss of traditional orchards and improve the condition across the UK. (From the UK Traditional Orchards Habitat Action Plan)
Establish 60 orchard trees of traditional varieties and 400m of native hedgerows.
rovide an opportunity for four diverse organisations (from the voluntary, private and commercial sectors) to work in a new, successful partnership, on a project that provides benefits to all, as well to local biodiversity and local people.
Provide opportunities for volunteers, including young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, to learn about and take part in land based conservation activities.
