The Community Garden Nelson

The Garden Project offers therapeutic horticultural and arts & crafts sessions, aiming to address the myriad of issues associated with social isolation and promoting an understanding of healthy, organic foods, as well as encouraging community participation in regular activities, working with a range of local community organisations. In 2023 they received funding through the Youth Investment Fund to build a community cafe to provide healthy snacks and drinks using fresh produce grown in the community garden.

This project is to fit a kitchen, counter and seating area and provide the necessary equipment to provide holiday activities and food (HAF) programme and healthy meals.
