The creation of an important wetland at Fingringhoe Wick

Essex Wildlife Trust has the opportunity to purchase 83 acres of land adjacent to our Fingringhoe Wick nature reserve and visitor centre.

This would allow EWT to open up currently inaccessible land to the public and to establish permissive paths and a new bird hide affording fantastic views of the Colne Estuary.

In addition, once the land has been purchased, Essex Wildlife Trust will have the opportunity to create a fantastic wetland, creating mudflats, saltmarsh, reed beds, hedgerow and species rich grassland. The wetland creation will begin once the land has been purchased.
