The Crystal Cut, The British Glass Foundation (The BGF)

This project aims to improve public open space at the front of the museum to help tell the distinctive stories of the considerable heritage the whole site contains and provide extended opportunities for outdoor leisure. It aims to create a coherent external environment, encouraging visitors to explore the area, take canal-side walks, and stimulate curiosity through revealing the site’s hidden archaeological heritage. The works will incorporate a circular landscaping scheme that reflects the heritage of the former cone and tunnels hidden beneath include seating, cycle racks, and a glass marble run for children and provide a rest point for boaters, anglers, cyclists and walkers.
