The Drive Centenary Project, The Drive Methodist Church, Sevenoaks, Kent

This Centenary Project is to change the face of the church building to better reflect the warmth of welcome and caring that is a vital part of the church and to provide better facilities for those that attend and use the church buildings. The front of the church is austere and reflect the social divide of a century ago, with two separate entrances. The proposed works will open up the front of the building by extending the vestibule, and provide a central entrance with steps down to the pavement. A small kitchen and toilet will also be provided as part of this reception area, which will enable it to be used as a space for meetings. At the rear of the church there are plans to improve the ladies toilet. The major part of the project at the back of the church is to extend the building to the side, providing a disabled toilet and facilities for baby changing, together with working and storage space.ICET is been asked to contribute to the new kitchen in the newly formed Vestibule of the church.
