The Elemental Garden at Sevenoaks Kent Wildlife Trust Reserve

To re- develop and extend a wildlife garden for use by any member of the public but especially to improve both physical and intellectual access to the reserve for some of our less able visitors and for those who are unused to visiting nature reserves. It will also support the delivery of education at the reserve.
Activities will include:
Use of nectar and rich plants to encourage bees and butterflies, fragrant smelling plants and flowers with tactile qualities for a sensory area in a raised bed for wheelchair users.
Recreated habitats such as a ‘stream’ in herb rich grass and a native cornfield.
Bird feeding area and a designated quiet area for storytelling with school groups.
Creation of larger, ‘wild’ garden, with native plants, tree nursery, mini-beast discovery area, animal homes, ‘Bee Bank’, composting area, activity mounds and hollows and a teaching shelter.
