The Friends of Dartmouth Park, West Bromwich – Bandstand Path and Seating (005643)

In 2016 the park had a bandstand installed which was a replica of the original Victorian bandstand, in the original location. The friends group do not want this bandstand to be an ornament. However, the bandstand is not as functional as it could be, because of the design some forms of entertainment cannot be seen from all directions by the audience. The bandstand is circular and covers an area of approx. 50sq mtrs. Surrounded by a path about 1mtr wide then grass land. This project is to install a circular tarmac area at the front of the bandstand. The circle would be the same size as the circle of the bandstand. This would serve two purposes:

1. To provide additional performance space.
2 to provide an area for seating in front of the bandstand.
We then plan to install benches around the outside of the performance area.
