The GOG Orchard Centre

The project aims to establish a centre of good environmental practice with the aim of highlighting and safeguarding the unique biodiversity of traditional orchards and raising their profile within the landscape and cultural heritage of Gloucestershire and as a location to undertake training courses to teach orchard and related rural skills,. The traditional orchard is a Gloucestershire Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) habitat.
The project will record the biodiversity present in existing orchards at Day’s Cottage, Upton Lane, Brookthorpe, Glos GL4 0UT and in particular Field no S08412 0236. Using this it will programme work to conserve this and instruct others in the practice of biodiversity conservation and protection. LCF to go towards orchard habitat conservation.
