The Great Fen Project – Purchase of Middle Farm

The wildlife Trust, together with its project partners (English Nature, EA, Huntingdonshire DC) aims to create the largest wetland reserve in lowland England. The Great Fen Project will restore over 3,700 hectares of fenland from arable land between Huntingdon and Peterborough that has not been seen on such a scale since the seventeenth century.
This proejct is to purchase 183 hectares of land and restore it, create and improve facilities for visitors and study transport issues between the Project and Peterborough. All landfill tax funds will be spent only on the land purchase.
