The Greenways project

To improve and secure greater public access to the natural environment of the Forest of Dean District through the development of a network of tracks stretching from Dymock in the north of the district to Bream in the south. Currently the higher level public rights of way network is highly fragmented forcing cyclists and equestrians on to busy and dnagerous roads. Following a feasibility study carried out in 2010/2011, new routes have been agreed in principle with private landowners that would provide links and make a more cohesive network. This network would bring leisure and economic benefits to the district and enable users to more easily access the Forest of Dean.
