The Greyfield Wood Restoration Project

This project aims to create a dynamic, accessible, ecosystem of native broadleaved woodland by restoring 7.5 hectares of lowland mixed deciduous woodland which is a UK Biodiversity Action Plan priority. It aims to restore native woodland through the gradual removal of planted conifers to allow light to the wood floor. The opening up of the wood through restoration will lead to a more broadleaved character which will create the opportunity for woodland species to be protected and flourish.
