The Hearing Help Centre, Ripley – Energy Conservation (5886/D)

The exterior of the building is rendered and pebble dashed and one end gable is badly blistered and the rendering has dropped off in several large patches allowing the weather to penetrate the building’s structure and desperately needs re doing. In the Main Hall fronting the pavement are 5 original single glazed wooden framed windows which have to be constantly covered with locked metal shutters preventing any natural ventilation and light from entering the building. These windows need replacing with double glazed windows using security strengthened glazing with a top opening for ventilation. The building is currently heated using 2 old gas boilers, which break down regularly, on two systems.

The Trust grant will contribute towards the energy conservation elements.
