The Hidden Gardens

The Hidden Gardens project was previously registered with Entrust (project registration number 421004.002). The project is focused on bringing a derelict site into use as public gardens.

The initial phases of the project were carried out during 2002 and 2003 with the gardens opening to the public in the summer of 2003.

The re-registration of the project relates to the ongoing development of the gardens, facilitating further social and environmental use of the site and implementing the remaining phases of the project that were not implemented previously, but that form key parts of the overall design.

The immediate phase that is due for construction in 2005 is the community headquarters building and its associated outdoor spaces that form a resource and base for community events, workshops and educational programmes (as well as office space for the permanent staff).

However, further funding is actively being sought for further phases of the project, over the comming years.
