The Hill Enhancement, Kirriemuir

This Community Partnership project is to improve and enhance Kirriemuir Hill park to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of J M Barrie. The environmental improvements aim to increase visitor interest as well as being of benefit to the residents of the town and surrounding countryside. The proposed new play area will be along the lines of “Neverland” of the Peter Pan books. The further heritage surrounding J M Barrie will also be celebrated in other areas of the parkland, including the Camera Obscura (a listed building) donated to the town by Barrie. Local school children are to be involved in the writing and designing of interpretation panels associated with the parkland. Other facilities to be provided are a look out mound and a BMX track.
