The Hope Centre, Southampton - Community Centre Improvements (005990)

The project is to transform disused building into a sustainable community centre through improving the heating system, main entrance, ceiling, kitchen, fencing and the replacement of barge boards and guttering. The name 'Hope Centre' is indicative of the intent to provide and coordinate a community resource to support individuals in gaining confidence and taking control of their lives to be self-reliant and able to make positive choices. It is intended to bring new hope, dignity and pride to Weston that has been caught until now in a cycle of deprivation. It is envisaged that the project will provide a practical space to enable the community to develop a heightened level of community life, confidence, ownership and economic well-being.
