The Humfrey Rooms Educational Room Improvements - Northamptonshire Natural History Society

In 2026, The group will celebrate their 150th anniversary; the project will transform NNHS’s Main Room into a modern, accessible, and dynamic educational hub at the heart of Northampton. The project will install sustainable seating, advanced technology, clear educational signage, hearing loops, visual aids, and energy-efficient lighting ensuring every visitor, including those with sensory impairments, feels welcomed and empowered to engage. Complementing these upgrades, we will launch native planting initiatives and host community-led workshops to restore local biodiversity and foster
ongoing environmental stewardship. The revitalised Main Room will become a vibrant centre where families, community groups, and environmental enthusiasts can gather, learn, and connect. From workshops and talks to
diverse community activities, the space will champion inclusivity, well-being, and environmental awareness. Through this project, NNHS will establish a lasting legacy, deepening appreciation for natural history and strengthening the fabric of the community for generations to come.
