The Improvement of the biodiversity of Gaskell Street Park to incorporate the completion of a safe play area and access in order to educate protect and improve safety

Due to non replacement of trees combined with 70% of the Manchester poplars succumbing to a fungal disease this has meant that the park will soon loose the majority of the trees. The group aim to be positive about this and use this to their advantage by: replanting with indigenous trees, carving the felled stumps, creating log piles for minibeasts/mammals, plant/encourage wildflowers to encourage insects, create a raised access walkway, creation of a new pathway and installation of educational lecterns. Play equipment will also be installed.
