The Ipswich Unitarian Meeting House – Restoration

The Grade I Listed Meeting House is on the Heritage At Risk Register and in danger of further deterioration and loss.
This project will deliver comprehensive repairs, saving the building for future generations. It will increase public access and reinforce the role of the chapel in the local community.
The funding will be put towards the cost of the package of repairs. We propose to allocate LCF funding specifically to roofing works which are due to be undertaken later in 2020.
The Ipswich Unitarian Meeting House is regarded as the finest timber framed meeting house of its kind in Britain. If the project is not undertaken there is a risk that the building could be lost and its role as a place of worship and community facility lost with it.
