The Maelor School – Swimming Pool Refurbishment

This project is for the refurbishment and upgrade of the swimming pool at The Maelor School in Wrexham. The facility is available for public use 54% of its available opening times and is viewed as a genuine community resource. The refurbishment and upgrade of this facility will enhance its value both in usability for the community and the school and provide long term provision to young learners so that they can learn to swim. The project will allow for better insulation, provide greater retention of heat than is currently in existence and thus reducing wasted energy and lower emissions. Entrance and exits will be improved to allow wheelchairs users access to the pool.
