The Mill Garden

Our project plans to enhance the facilities for groups visiting the mill. The project has several strands to serve various educational and recreational purposes, including:
• A heritage garden area representative of how the local allotments were used historically. This area will include vegetable growing areas and a building reflecting what would have been on the site in the 1800s.
• A wildlife area demonstrating how the local community can provide for wildlife in their own gardens.
• An area for growing cereals such as wheat, oats and barley to show how flour / bread is produced ‘from field to plate’. An outdoor cob oven is also being considered.
• A secure picnic and recreation area for school parties and other children’s groups.
