The Observatory Glazing Project

To replace the floor to ceiling, all-round glazing in the fourth floor observatory with new glazing units. These units will reduce solar gain and make the space more usable, particular during the warm summer months, by reducing the temperature in the area. Reducing solar gain will also prevent further sun damage to existing exhibits. It is planned that replacing the gazing will also form the first stage of Catalyst’s plan to improve the Observatory and its contents as further funding can then be sought to improve the current exhibits on display.
