The Outhouse/Davies Lockers

The outhouse: Installation of a composting toilet will: * Maximise the number of social events, educational visits, horticultural tours and family activities and promote the site as a 'green community hub'. * Permit members and visitors to spend more time on site leading to enhanced physical, emotional wellbeing and encourage potential members to join. 60% of our allotment holders are over the age of 60. One is a bowel cancer survivor. This section of the membership in particular suffer disproportionately from lack of toilet facilities and are forced to use the facilities at a local supermarket, 20 minutes walk from the site, or go home and return to the site - A barrier to spending a lot of leisure time on the site and to working there for longer periods.
