The Oxford House in Bethnal Green, Bethnal Green – Toilet Refurbishment (006886)

Oxford House has reached a critical and exciting point in their ambitious transformation plan, to conserve the Victorian building, improve accessibility and open up spaces to even more people in their community.

The ground floor WC’s (8 in total) are an important part of this plan. Currently, 1,400 older people, families, and school groups use these facilities which have not been updated in 25 years. At peak use, the WC’ systems often fail, leak or simply aren’t fit for purpose – causing several challenges. Additionally, the toilets are free and accessible and an important community resource for neighbouring Weaver’s Fields, a Green Flag Park. This toilet refurbishment will enable the diverse user groups to be better served.
