The Pestfurlong Moss Restoration Project

We will conserve 1.9 hectares of an internationally important mossland habitat through a programme of rewetting which will benefit the environment by regulating rain water and capturing carbon emissions. Pestfurlong Moss biodiversity will benefit from habitat improvements and the project will enhance a vital wildlife corridor between two SSSI’s. We will improve 230 metres of public access and empower the community through project engagement, raising awareness of Pestfurlong Moss’ value in the local community and ensure its future by upskilling local residents through training and volunteering.
