The Reduction of Heavy Metals in Leachate by Rhizofiltration.

The use of reedbeds as a means of reducing heavy metal loading in landfill leachate discharges will be evaluated. Through landfill field trials and trials at the University College, plus associated analytical work, the fates of heavy metals in such systems will be investigated.
