The Ropewalk Community Garden

To transform a semi-derelict area into a vibrant community space, affording many opportunities for practical involvement of residents in the implementation of the scheme. The project will redevelop a stretch of the Canal banking as a recreational, community garden for the benefit of residents in the immediate area and people walking along the stretch of the ‘straight mile’ of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in Burnley. The project will provide opportunities for local people to design bespoke railings, decorative panels for a timeline, applied arts to planters, signage and tree and flower planting.
