The Shore Community Church Roofing project

Bognor Regis Baptist Church (BRBC) owns and operates Shore Community Church in Bognor Regis, a one stop wellbeing hub at the heart of a diverse community.

The building offers a large worship area, several meeting spaces, a well-used community café, and an Ofsted registered nursery. It offers a range of activities for the community including toddler session, knit and natter, English speaking classes, slimming club, men and women clubs, fitness sessions, craft group, bridge, coffee and chat, as well as drop-in services from the Citizen Advice Bureau and mental health charities. A children’s holiday club is also run from the site.

The flat roof above public areas of the building, excluding the nursery and congregational space are in a poor state of repair and require attention. An independent condition survey undertaken recently revealed that the current flat roof does not meet regulations, despite previous remedial work. Significant water ingress is visible internally and externally, and there is significant vegetation growth in some hard to access areas. Biffa Award has been approached to fully fund replacing the roof.
