The Tower of Light

To illuminate an iconic building in Gloucester City Centre. A 15th Century Grade 2* building and a scheduled ancient monument. The building has been restored with landfill and lottery money and has become a successful community hub during the day time. The proposed new lighting scheme which forms stage 2 of our project will enhance evening community use; deter anti social behaviour; improve the street scene. Part of the area around the building is in shadows and not attractive at night. The building was re opened in September 2009 after being refurbished. We now wish to complete phase 2 of the project which is to improve the external lighting; our users say they want to see the building well lit at night time and that it will encourage more usage.
