The Town Hall, Cirencester Parish Church – repair and interpretation

This project will conserve and repair the Town Hall which is used as the South Porch of the Church. Originally an independent secular building of unique structure and usage, it is a grade 1 listed building of the 1940s at the heart of Cirencester’s conservation area. It has a huge visual impact on the market place which is the town’s hub.
Priorities are;
– to conserve the building from further deterioration with a scheme of investigation, honest repair and protection which will be recorded and shared.
– to engage local people and visitors in a better understanding of the building and its history through interpretation and site visits during the works;
– to consult the community on the opening up of the Town Hall for wider use.
