The Triangle

The Friends of Walkden Garden (FOWG) was formed in 2001 and has since implemented a programme of improvements to widen the access, relevance and appeal of the Gardens.
‘The Triangle’ is a shady area near to the entrance to Walkden Gardens. Since July 2007 we built low, natural stone walls with dogtooth capping stones and have cleared overgrown shrubs. All work is entirely by community volunteers.
We seek funding for the next phase of the project, to raise the level of the area, plant and mulch to create a high quality, attractive entrance feature. Complaints by regular visitors have highlighted this area as ‘letting the place down’. This project has been chosen by the Friends as a priority for the Garden’s development.
