The Way Family Dinners, The Way Wolverhampton Youth Zone, West Midlands

This is a project to replace the equipment within The Way’s catering kitchen in order that it can continue with and expand its community outreach programme and provide training opportunities. It also plans to install hot drinks machines. The Way Wolverhampton Youth Zone is seeking to expand its open-access lunchtime dining as an intergenerational safe space for children, families, and community residents of all ages. Since opening its canteen for open-access meals in September 2022, The Way serves an average of 1,100 meals each week, sharing tables with staff, volunteers, and tenants of the building, including children and young people aged 8-18. The Way is seeking to replace irreparable equipment and install hot drink machines to meet the unfulfilled demand for tea and coffee from diners and expand catering skills training opportunities.
