The Welcome Garden Project

The project will totally enhance the area around the community centre as this area is currently derelict and unusable and this project will transform it into a landscaped informal play, educational and community amenity. It will provide an educational area for local children and adults to grow vegetables and herbs in the rasied beds, informaql play area with the provisioon of a willow tunnel and seating, it will provide fruit tree and a wildflower area, an informal play area with willow a dome and mushroom seats and a community garden area with seating, planting and a bbq. There is no other local community green space within this community so this garden will be a real attraction to local residents. The project will aslo contribute to the enhancement of community cohesion in the area. It will aslo contribute to physical renewal and regeneration by creating an attractive, safe and sustainable environment within a deprived area of Belfast..
