The West Cambridgeshire Hundreds Project

The aim of this project is to reverse some of the negative effects that Cambridgeshires agricultural development has had on wildlife through the creation of a living landscape through which wildlife can move freely. The project sites of Gamlingay Wood SSSI, Gamlingay Cinques Common, Gamlingay Meadow, Waresley and Gransden Woods SSSI, Buff Wood SSSI and Hayley Wood SSSI will benefit biodiversity works including coppicing, mowing and Raking, controlling of scrub, deadwood retention, deer and rabbit population monitoring and removal of non native species.
