Projects / Thompson Street Estate Sensory Garden

Thompson Street Estate Sensory Garden

The project will create a sensory garden on a plot of disused land located within a deprived urban area. The garden will be used for voluntary community gardening participation, leisure, as a focus for sustainability and environmental education, and other community based activities. The project will benefit the wider community, as access will be provided for all groups of users. Links will be made with local schools, and local youth projects. A Project Manager will be responsible for training and coordinating the volunteers who will develop and maintain the garden. The overall aim of the project is to provide much needed social and physical regeneration by providing a focal point for ‘Community Pride’.
