Thornborough Henges

This project involves the acquisition of land to the south of the northern henge at Thornborough Henges (a scheduled monument), near Thornborough. As part of a separate acquisition Historic England are acquiring the Central and Southern Henges in order to manage the site as a visitor attraction – allowing full public access and interpretation of this important pre-historic site. The land acquired under this project (approximately 2.4 acres) will allow public access to the south of the northern henge which will improve the visitor experience. It will also allow full access between all of the henges should at some point in the future Historic England be able to acquire the Northern Henge.
