Thornton-The Great Northern Trail Phase 2

The overall route will re-connect the villages – Cullingworth, Harecroft, Wilsden, Denholme, Thornton, Clayton and Queensbury in three main phases by sustainable forms of transport. It will also connect directly with two schools – Cullingworth Primary and Thornton Primary. Already two sections of the route are open to the general public; these are at Cullingworth, using Cullingworth and Hewenden Viaducts, and at Queensbury. It is Sustrans’ intention to open up the route section by section as and when land agreements are reached and when funding is in place.
