Thornwick Country Park Nature Reserve and Bord Observatory

Flamborough Head Heritage Coast is one of the most prominent features on the East Coast of England, jutting out miles into the North Sea and is an environmental asset of European importance. The village of Flamborough is a central hub for the 3,265 ha headland, serving the popular attractions of North and South Landing and Thornwick Bay. This section of coast attracts many tourists – an average of 2.7 million day visitors and 900,000 long stay visitors – and is an important educational resource (schools, universities and ad hoc visitors). This project in conjunction with Flamborough wildlife groups will provide a much-needed outdoor centre/bord observatory and nature reserve improvements in line with the 165 page Flamborough Head Management Plan (2007).
