Three Groves Wood Nature Reserve

Three Groves Wood is a 3.3ha semi-natural ancient woodland situated on the Golden Valley about 2km east of the village of Chalford. The wood is dominated by beech trees with oak, ash and hornbeam also present. The project aims to maintain the wood as a 'high forest' through small scale thinning to allow selected trees more room to mature. Species and structural diversity will be enhanced by maintaining open glades. Non-native invasive species such as sycamore will be removed.
