Three Sisters Wildlife and Wetlands Improvement Scheme (Wigan)

We will transform a derelict and virtually inaccessible area of a well used park, excavating ponds, carrying out selective planting and enhancing the developing habitat there. We will create a network of paths and boardwalks to allow access by all visitors and build a bird hide to enable visitors to enjoy the resident wildlife. The site was formerly a BMX track but since falling into disuse several years ago it has begun to develop into a diverse mosaic of habitats.
