Thurrock Christian Fellowship, Essex – Community Space Creation (7056)

Thurrock Christian Fellowship Community Space project is to take a number of existing disused storage areas and to knock them through into one large open plan community area that would be open most days every week for the people in the surrounding areas to come to receive support with issue such as food poverty, financial and debt crisis, homelessness, social isolation and loneliness, marriage and families, and also young children education and special needs provision. There would also be a signposting service so people could be connected with other agencies and voluntary groups across the borough of Thurrock.
The design of the “Space” would the creation of a relaxing environment similar to a coffee shop with comfortable chairs, sofas and individual seating areas where community engagement can take place and help and support can be given on a one to one basis.
