To demonstrate the proof of principle for the conversion of low value recycled pet waste for use in high value reinforced thermoplastic pipes (RTP’s)

To demonstrate the creation and novel use of PET tape/fibres to prove in principle that the economic manufacture of high value Reinforced Thermoplastic Pipe (RTP), using reclaimed polymer and enhanced composite processing equipment is possible. The polymer waste stream being utilised is low value PET bottle and packaging recyclate. This needs to be converted into high value oriented thermoplastic tape to meet the required performance critieria for high-pressure pipe.
