To install a new roof over the community centre.

Team Oasis (TO) is a community-focused organisation in Dingle, Liverpool. The organisation offers inclusive opportunities for children and young people to engage in a variety of activities in an area of severe deprivation. The facility offers four activity spaces, an office, toilets, kitchen and a courtyard area. TO offer a variety of weekly activities including Kudo, parent and toddlers, football tots, after school club, adult and junior dance, music sessions, ladies keep fit and boxing, youth boxing, film and photography and Ju Jitsu for over 16’s. Unfortunately, several severe leaks on the flat roof has caused damage to the fabric of the building, despite continued maintenance and ongoing patch repairs. Some sessions are often cancelled and a vital sensory room has to be closed during rainfall. TO has requested full funding from Biffa Award to install a new slightly pitched secondary roof overlay along with fascia’s and guttering to make the building watertight. As part of this project, the applicant will also replace the existing access door with a steel door, complete with an intercom system to prevent unwanted access at a cost of £5,600. TO does have plans to extend and remodel the space internally and planning permission has been sought, but the organisation is in very early stages of raising funds to deliver this work, which will not affect the roof replacement.
