To replace windows in Hall

The Hall was built in 1921 by voluntary subscriptions, to honour the dead of World War 1 & to provide the community with a hall large enough for social purposes. To that end, it has a large( 30ft wide by 60ft long) sprung wooden dance floor with a stage area. It was used for dances & shows and also as the community cinema. During World War 2 it was the mess hall for the US troops stationed in The Forest at Mile End & The Wynols nearby. The windows have been replaced over the years by softwood, which have deteriorated beyond economic repair. The hall has never applied for grants before, funding repairs & maintenance from hire monies. However, we do not have sufficient funds for such a large job, & due to the impact of these windows on the building warmth & ambience, hiring revenue has also diminished over the last 10 years.
