Tolpuddle Village Hall – Renovations and Extension

The project is to adapt the Village Hall better to meet the growing needs of the communities of Tolpuddle and Southover, by increasing available space for activities and storage, improving kitchen facilities and bringing toilets and access up to modern standards. An extended building will allow more activities (e.g. table tennis, film shows and arts) and more people to attend events (harvest supper, craft show). We have explored the option of a new build, but very few sites are available, all are up the valley side with difficult building conditions and costs, including land acquisition these would be higher than conversion of the existing Hall. The village has expanded by nearly 30% in the last 10 years and the Hall is now inadequate for modern needs.
