Torkington Park Skate and BMX Project

This project comprises of the development of a skate /BMX area in Torkington Park, Hazel Grove, Stockport. The ramps will be made for SK8 board which is a 100% recycled plastic, and will be designed to cater for more experienced skaters and riders. The ramps will use the latest in technology to reduce noise pollution, and their susceptability to vandalism and graffitti. The aim is to provide a facility in Torkington Park that can be used positively by teenagers alongside other park users from their community. Over the last two years the Friends Group have consulted widely with young people. The design of the ramps has been done in consultation with skaters and riders, park users and other stake holders.
