Townclose Hills Improvements

The project aims to protect and enhance Townclose Hills Local Nature Reserve (SSSI) by providing a re – surfaced bridleway, knee high fencing, benches, signage and improved access controls. Accessibility will be availlable for horse riders and cyclists to those parts of trhe site they have a right to access while preventing them form accessing the more ecologically sensitive areas. Signage will inform people why the site is important as well as digging up plants and soil to create cycle tracks). Access controls will permanently exclude motorbikes from the whole site. Re- surfacing / re- grading (scrub removal) the bridleway and provide new benches will impove access opportunities for pedestrians and those with mobility difficulties. Project costs include design fees to produce detailed plans for the site due to the SSSI status.
