Transforming IWM London: Phase 2

Shaped by visitor feedback over many years, capital works at IWM London will ensure that we continue to offer challenging, rewarding and relevant experiences for today’s visitors. The works will deliver:

• new Second World War Galleries and terrace displays (2,143m2), more than doubling the space dedicated to the war within the Museum;
• new Holocaust Galleries (1,271m2), uniquely located within the context of the Second World War enabling audiences to reflect on the inextricable relationship between the two;
• two digitally-enabled and flexible Learning Spaces with direct access to the new galleries (508m2 total).

Building on the success of the First World War Centenary Partnership, IWM will also mark the transformation of its galleries by leading a Second World War Partnership, sharing its unique collections and expertise throughout the UK to ensure that there is a truly national and lasting impact of the investment in London.
