Transforming Port Sunlight Museum

The main aim is to encourage greater participation in Port Sunlight Museum by transforming the visitor experience for the benefit of the local community and visitors alike.

We will achieve this by:
1. Improving the sense of arrival and visitor welcome at the Museum including new visitor signage, improved lighting, attractive display units/furniture
2. Increased access to the Museum and improvement of existing displays including a ‘more inviting’ entrance area, graphic panels exploring new themes, and reorganisation of existing displays
3. Creation of a dedicated special exhibitions gallery to attract new and repeat visitors through a varied programme of displays focusing on themes of local and national importance
