Transforming the Newtown Centre

The refurbishment of the centre will contribute to improving the environment for users within the centre. The centre still has much of its original décor from the 1960s, so the external and internal improvements will make a huge impact on the aesthetics of the local area: the centre is highly visible from one of the main roads in Nuneaton.

Replacing the windows from single glazed, rotten frames, will allow users to open the windows (which is impossible, safely at the moment), get fresh air, ventilate the spaces, for example the dance sessions have to use fans, keep the fire doors open, which has safety concerns, and still that is not enough on very warm days. The kitchen is large and very outdated and not suited to the current small scale operations; the wasted space can be a lot better utilised by creating two new spaces.
